Plant stamp

Philatelists interested in a particular subject are very exciting and exceptional people. They collect specific postage stamps, covers, post cards, postmarks and other types of philatelic goods.

The existence of human beings and animals would be impossible without plants, that's why they are so important. Therefore, a lot of countries issue postage items depicting various plants.

January 24, 2011, Finland issued a set of 2 self-adhesive stamps called Birch:plant-stamp-4

Each stamp in this set is a plant stamp showing a traditional plant – birch.

The United Nations General Assembly declared 2011 the International Year of Forests. That year postage items under the title Europa Forests were issued in a great number of countries. For example, May 4, 2011, Guernsey issued an interesting souvenir sheet called Europa Forests:

Every plant stamp depicts a plant – acorn, walnut, and chestnut.
September 8, 2011, Austria issued an unusual souvenir sheet called Europa Forests:plant-stamp-1

This souvenir sheet represents a bag with real spruce seeds. This means that humans should plant forests not cut them down.

This FDC is very beautiful: there is a plant on the cover, each stamp is a plant stamp, and postmark is plant-shaped.

There are a lot of exciting subjects of the postage items depicting images of various plants. Collecting of stamps and other postage items on a particular subject requires a lot of time and energy. We believe we will be very helpful in such difficult yet interesting work.
