Philatelists interested in a particular subject are very exciting and exceptional people. They collect specific postage stamps, covers, post cards, postmarks and other types of philatelic goods. Sometimes subjects of their collection are quite unusual, for example, bugs. Postage items with the images of bugs are issued in a great number of countries. For example, October 10, 2007, Austria issued Animal Protection - Longicorn stamp: It's a self-adhesive bug stamp. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines issued a souvenir sheet called Insects of the Caribbean /Bequia/ on August 11, 2011: It contains a round bug stamp. First Day Cover (FDC) is a quite interesting philatelic item as such. For example, October 19, 2010, Canada issued Beneficial Insects FDC, showing images of different insects on the cover and stamps. Postmark is insect-designed as well: Insects FDC was issued on July 1, 2009, in North Korea: There are millions of species of bugs which vary in terms of shape, size, and color. Ladybugs belong to the family of beetles as well. Some collectors prefer postal products showing ladybugs. A set of 3 stamps called Beetles was issued on January 1, 2006, by Aland Islands: Each stamp is a bug stamp; one of them shows a ladybug. April 22, 2005, Croatia issued a set of 3 stamps called Croatian Fauna, which includes stamp with the image of ladybug: Unusual stamps displaying insects are issued in a great number of countries, thus Slovenia issued a set of 3 stamps called Fruits, Blossom and Insect ֠Peach on July 21, 2001: One of them shows ladybug grub, but the coupon contains an image of ladybug itself. Collecting of stamps and other postage items on a particular subject requires a lot of time and energy, especially if collector wants a particular bug stamp. We believe we will be very helpful in such difficult yet interesting work. |
